Life | May Snippets

May was an extremely stressful month for me - final month of my undergraduate degree(!) but I managed to fit in a bit of fun, here's what I got up to in May...

#LushEthics Sheffield Blogger Event

Last week I was very kindly invited to the latest Lush event in Sheffield. I was so excited when the email popped in my inbox, I've been so jealous of everyone who's got to go to them elsewhere.
The event was mainly based around their naked products and the reduction in packaging they've managed to achieve. It was incredible to hear how much plastic has been reduced by selling everything with no packaging. I was also so impressed with all the staff's knowledge and passion surrounding the brand.

Life | April Snippets

Hey, Hi, Hello, where did April go? It's all getting a bit scary now, as I know only have a few weeks left of university. Where did the time go? April was filled with the end of Easter, so lots of chocolate, my brother's birthday and the beginning of the final year deadlines.

Food Review | Adam Handling at Caxton

If you recall last week's post, I mentioned Mum and I met up with a friend for lunch. Booked through bookatable, which I was totally unaware of before but it is great at finding great deals for loads of restaurants. The week before we had a little look and settled on Adam Handling at Caxton, 3 courses, glass of wine and petit fours for £32pp.

Recipe | Thyme Cheese Scones #CTGrowYourOwn

It has been so long since I've done a lot of baking, let alone a recipe post. I've gone savoury for once which is so unlike me. Cheese scones just remind me of that bit on Miranda where Gary makes savoury muffins and Miranda is so disgusted by the thought but alas I thought I would give savoury scones a go.
As part of the Cotton Traders Grow your own campaign I was sent a herb kit which included seeds for sage, basil and thyme plants. I have so little success with these herb kits so I'm hoping this attempt at growing may go slightly better!
After my mum had a rather successful homemade afternoon tea last week I decided to steal her recipe for the scones.

Life | London Birthday Celebrations

If you've been following me on instagram (shameless plug!) you may have noticed I took a little trip to London last week. We initially went to celebrate my brother's birthday but Mum and I managed to turn it into quite a mammoth trip and also managed to meet up with one of her friends for lunch. Even though I lugged my camera round for the two days we were there I forgot to actually use it and ended up taking a lot of pictures on my phone.

New in | Spring Box of Lame

Ever since I had my last box of lame just before Christmas I've been eager for the release of the next one. I was away when they were first released but I managed to grab myself one once I got back. I forgot to take a picture of the box when it arrived as I'd just got back from a very long trip to London so I practically ripped it open with excitement. I managed to retain the maltesers for the photos but they got eaten pretty swiftly afterwards.

Life | March Snippets

So blogging in March went well didn't it... oops. I'm not totally sure what I spent most of March doing until I went on my field trip. But I'm finally back home for my Easter holidays so I'm currently catching up on sleep.

Life | February Snippets

Woooo hello leap year! I thought with the extra day I'd slot my highlights of the month post here. February disappeared ridiculously quickly, I'm surprised how much I squeezed in within realising.

Life | Paradise Island Adventure Golf, Sheffield

An email popped into my inbox a couple of weeks ago asking me whether I wanted to try out Sheffield's adventure golf. After having a little read about it, I decided not to let my terrible golf skill stop me and replied straight away.

My Blog Goals for 2016

Apparently I've decided that the New Year starts now in terms of my blog so decided to set myself some goals to go alongside it. So moving on from the personal goals that I posted in January I thought I'd write some down that were related to the blog.

Life | A Weekend in the Peak District

Hello! Sorry posts have been few and far between, I took a well needed break from writing anything after handing in my dissertation, also sleep, I missed sleep.
After a night out with some of my favourites my parents came to visit me in the North. As I feel like they've seen enough of Sheffield we always head to the peaks when they come to visit. It always makes me wish I went more often as I love exploring the countryside.

Life | January Snippets

For what feels like all the time I've been in education, I've had exams in January so I've spent most of it revising. This year was no exception with a dissertation due on the 5th February and exam on the 2nd, there's not been much room to have some fun. I did manage to fit a few things in though, here's what I got up to in January...

Travel | My 2016 Lust List

I've got itchy feet again! (when do I not) Funnily enough revision gets even more boring when you think of all the places you'd rather be. I'm not totally sure whether I'll actually get to travel much this year as I need to start earning (and saving) some money for my big plans. I borrowed my brother's book from his South-Asian travels and pretty much want to go everywhere in there. I've added some slightly more accessible places too. Any how, a girl can dream...

Beauty | Why Epilating is the way forward

I've found the answer people, the answer to all our shaving/waxing woes. Today, we're talking hair removal, who knew that was ever going to be a topic on my blog?! I just feel the need to spread the love for the epilator(/torture device).

Tips | How to sell on Ebay

You can sell practically anything on ebay. I've sold laptops, cameras and clothes but the opportunities are endless. January is usually the time we all have a massive clear out and I am no different. I thought I'd share some tips on how to sell on ebay successfully.

Sheffield | My Top 10 Places to Visit

I've spent over two years living in Sheffield and I feel like I know a little bit about what there is to do in the Steel City. I still have so much more to explore, and am determined to do so in my final few months before I graduate (scary stuff!). I thought I'd share my opinion of the top 10 places to visit in Sheffield. These are in no particular order by the way, I could never choose a favourite.

Life | A Student's Guide to Cooking for Yourself

I feel like everybody except me is back at university right now (out of choice, my exam isn't til 2nd February and I work better at home). So if you are one of those people that's back at university you may be in need of some tips, new semester new you? No more baked beans on toast for every meal. Living away from home comes with it's good and bad points, with freedom comes responsibility don't they say? It's not all bad though, cooking and planning can be fun if you let it be... I'm not so sure about the doing your own cleaning and washing bit though.

New in | A Stress Fuelled Shopping Haul

Apparently writing a dissertation and revising for an exam is quite stressful, who knew? Breaks seem to result in me ending up on the Topshop website (and a few others) and browsing for things I definitely don't need, although I did pick up this bargain of a striped dress which I ended up wearing on New Year's Eve. I've picked up a couple of other things post-christmas, only one thing actually being in the sale though.

Life | 2016 Goals

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Okay, yes I'm a little late, I totally intended to get this up on the 1st but a little too much alcohol may have prevented that. I started writing this way back in November as the thought of 2016 felt a while away and suddenly we're already in it. I haven't actually written any proper resolutions in a long time so here's just a few things I want to achieve this year.
